Many authors and illustrators have found they must take an active role in marketing and publicizing their children’s books if they want to succeed in the business. Since 1992, the “To Market” column has advocated for authors and illustrators and answered their questions in The Bulletin, the national publication of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Susan also serves as the SCBWI’s marketing adviser. The “To Market” archive is divided into the eight topics listed below and contains answers to the many questions that have been submitted, as well as feature articles and profiles of key people in the field.
