HOW WE WORK

Thanks to our clients, we've enjoyed steady growth since the agency's founding in 1986. Our goals continue to be to advocate for the highest quality books and products for children and families, to help children's authors and illustrators reach a broader audience, to promote programs that support excellence in the field. We also serve as consultants and recommend other specialists as appropriate. Unlike many firms, we do not accept or pay referral fees. This allows us to make objective recommendations in client and consulting relationships.

We have also constantly adapted our systems and strategies to meet the increasingly complex needs of our clients. In 1990, we built a unique networked database system. This system, which has served as a model for other companies, provided us with the ability to store and track data on media interest in thousands of books and products; disseminate client information quickly and efficiently; cross-select media and special interest contacts for specialized campaigns; and provide fast responses to client requests.

In 2001, we completed installation of an advanced sales-automation system that is updated annually and which enables us to integrate our database capabilities with evolving Internet technology.

In 2005, we launched Reviewers Checklist.com, an industry-wide data search site designed to promote children's, teen and parenting books to a broad range of media, and to librarians, educators and the general public.
